BackPack Beginnings is grateful to have the support of so many wonderful organizations. One such organization is maCares, a charitable giving division of Market America.
maCares has been a huge supporter of BackPack Beginnings over the last two years. Not only have they held several food and comfort drives, but they have also stuffed Comfort BackPacks for children in need of basic items.
In April of this year, many of the wonderful maCares volunteers came to our office where they packed 89 of these backpacks which contain basic items such as shampoo, soap, socks, and even a stuffed animal to hug and love. These volunteers also sorted clothes for the clothing pantry and prepared bags of food to be given to children who otherwise would not have had food to eat.
In addition to all of maCares’ volunteer work, they have also donated a total of $2,334 to date for our Comfort BackPack Program and Clothing Pantry.
“maCares is successful because its participants realize that actions speak louder than words that everyone has something of value to contribute, and that by making a difference in the lives of others, we are enriching our own. We are committed, we care, and we invite the community to join us in changing lives for the better,” says maCares President Brandi Quinn.
maCares – we can’t thank you enough for your continued support of BackPack Beginnings and for making an impact on children in need in Guilford County and the surrounding areas!
