Results are in: First Annual Give Back | Pack Lunch Event!
We are thrilled to share the good news from our first annual “Give Back | Pack Lunch” event that was held September 16-20, in honor of National Hunger Awareness Month! This community-wide event benefiting BackPack Beginnings raised a total of $12,700! Thanks to all participants, 84 children will be fed every weekend for the entire school year with the money raised from this event.
Thanks to all the community groups, company employees, and even groups of friends that packed their lunch instead of eating out and donating the money saved to feed children through the BackPack Beginnings’ Food BackPack Program.
Some of the largest supporters included: Piedmont Financial Trust Company, Samet Corporation, Michelle Wright Events, Brookhaven Country Day School, Greensboro Municipal Credit Union, Bernard Robinson & Co, Carruthers & Roth, PA, MOMS Club of Greensboro-East, NC and VF Corporation. A special thank you to Leadership Greensboro for their help in creating this event. We look forward to next year’s “Give Back | Pack Lunch” event in September, 2014!
