Summer is officially here and the school year is coming to an end. BackPack Beginnings has been able to serve over 2,500 children and next year we are looking to help even more! With 2 of our 4 programs running during the summer, we use this time to replenish, restock and prepare for the upcoming school year, so we can help even more children. Let’s keep the momentum going! Here are a few ways you can help BackPack Beginnings help children in need this summer.

Our Clothing Pantry Needs Your Help

BackPack Beginnings is in need of summer clothing. We are specifically looking for the following:

  • Boys clothing-2T and up; greatest need is 5/6; also small and medium adult male sizes
  • Girl clothing- only 24 month, 2T, 3T and 4T with the greatest need being 2T and 3T
  • All sizes of new socks and underwear.

Host A Shoe Drive

BackPack Beginnings is holding a used shoe drive from July 1- October 1 and will be collecting ALL types of shoes. We will keep the best children’s shoes for our clothing pantry and the rest will go to Funds2Org, who will pay us for the shoes and distrubite them to third world countries. We will use the funds to purchase SMOD clothing for the children of Guilford County. We have instructions, tips and flyers to help you create a successful shoe drive.
