BackPack Beginnings Launches ‘Make an imPACK’ Annual Campaign
Greensboro, NC – BackPack Beginnings, a local nonprofit, announced today the launch of its annual fundraising campaign called, Make an imPACK. This year’s goal is to raise $30,000 to help fund its 2017 operating budget and expand programs to reach more children in need.
“Over the past 6 years, BackPack Beginnings has become a crucial resource for countless schools, teachers, social workers, and child service agencies. They’ve come to depend on our programs to feed, clothe, and comfort local children in need,” said BPB founder Parker White. “If you can afford to make even a small donation, that’s important. You’re helping to keep our programs available.”
BackPack Beginnings serves 6,000 children through their four programs which provides food, comfort and clothing. Currently serving 45 schools, they have 6 schools on a waiting list. “We would love to serve more schools but we need financial help to do so,” says Parker White, Founder and Executive Director.
- $50 will pack 10 bags of child friendly food for hungry preschool and elementary kids over the weekend
- $100 will pack shopping bags filled with clothing for children in need
- $300 will pack a school food pantry with hundreds of pounds of food for local children/families
- $500 will PACK 25 Comfort BackPacks with basic necessities for children facing trauma
Best of all, thanks to an anonymous donor, donations will have double the impact this year. A generous supporter has agreed to match the first $5,000 raised during their Make an imPACK Campaign. Please consider making a tax deductible donation to BackPack Beginnings.
“Whether we receive $5, $20 or $100, every dollar counts when it comes helping children”, says White. “We hope this matching campaign inspires individuals, the community and corporate donors to double the value of their gift to BackPack Beginnings.” To donate online visit www.backpackbeginnings.org. Checks payable to BackPack Beginnings can be mailed to 1852 Banking Street #9024, Greensboro, NC 27408.
BackPack Beginnings received a contribution recently from The NASCAR Foundation’s Betty Jane France Humanitarian Award. Their generosity resulted in a total of $25,000 awarded to Parker White and BackPack Beginnings for outstanding work and dedication to children’s causes.
