2015 K5K (3)

School has just started, the weather is lovely and fall sports have yet to make their full-on schedule crowding impact. What will you do with your Saturday morning? I have just the thing.

The Kirkwood 5K.

This race is a family friendly event, nestled in the historic Kirkwood neighborhood in Greensboro. Known for years for its Fourth of July Parade and block parties, Kirkwood has now also been the home of this race, benefiting BPB, for nearly five years! And if it’s in Kirkwood, you know it’s going to be fun.

Runners and walkers (don’t let the word “race” scare you away) of all different ages and fitness levels mingle on the out-and-back race course, high-fiving friends on the other side of the course and listening to cheers from lawn-side spectators.

You can register Saturday morning before the 9 am race or go over to packet pick up on Friday night, where you’ll find live music and food trucks (did I mention Kirkwood always does things up right?!).

What could be even better than all of the fun you’ll have participating in this event? 100%, yep, 100% of all of the proceeds benefit BPB. Thanks to the awesome sponsors that have made this possible (go read about them over on the K5K Blog!).

It’s definitely the back-to-school party you don’t want to miss. Get up and get over there Saturday morning!
