Are you looking for easy (and sometimes free!) ways to give back this Holiday season? BackPack Beginnings has several events taking place in the next couple of months to help raise money and supplies for the children in need here in our community. We are grateful for all of your support, and the support of the establishments holding drives on our behalf.
Few Days Left: “Like” DitraCreative on Facebook! Until November 22, DitraCreative will donate $1 for every new like on their Facebook page. Please consider liking their page now, through this link before reading on. This is a free way to help the children in our community! Over $300 has already been raised!
Donate Stuffed Animals at Petsmart: A stuffed animal is included in each of our Comfort BackPacks for children in trauma due to abuse/neglect, homelessness, foster care, or refugee resettlement. Please stop in the Petsmart on Lawndale and donate a stuffed animal in the donation box at the front of the store. Chance and Lucky, cat and dog stuffed animals, are also available to purchase to donate for $5. The Petsmart stuffed animal drive is until mid-December.
Supply Drive at Barnes and Noble: Stop by Barnes and Noble to purchase supplies for both our Food and Comfort BackPack Programs including shelf-stable individual milks, books, stuffed animals, and dried apples. Please consider donating when you check-out. The Barnes and Noble drive is until the end of the year.
Give the Perfect Gift this Holiday Season: Looking for the right gift? Consider purchasing a donation card to help the children in our programs. Newly designed, festive cards are available for purchase at Simply Meg’s at the Friendly Center, and at the Sacred Garden Bookstore at 215 West Fisher Avenue during the month of December, or year-round via email at parker@backpackbeginnings.org.
Extra Special Food BackPack in December: Every December, BackPack Beginnings distributes hats and gloves to the children in our new schools. Please consider donating new hats and gloves to help keep children warm this winter. Email at parker@backpackbeginnings.org or call (336) 709-9649. All donations need to be to BPB by December 6th.
