On June 20, Guilford County employees and Greensboro City employees will compete against one another in a friendly game of softball at 10 am, Gibson Park, 5207 W. Wendover Ave. This is the last of 3 sporting events that included a flag football game and basketball game earlier this year. The competition was the brain child of City Councilman Jamal Fox and Guilford County Commissioner Ray Trapp as a way to bring elected officials and employees together.
The softball game is free and open to the public. People are encouraged to bring donations of new or gently used kids clothing, non-perishable food, or school supplies to benefit BackPack Beginnings.
