After successfully launching our Food BackPack Program in 2010, our Founder, Parker White, learned about other ways to serve distressed children in our community.  So in 2012, with the help of Leadership Greensboro, BackPack Beginnings created our Comfort BackPack Program to offer care, comfort and basic necessities to children in traumatic situations such as homelessness, abuse or neglect, and refugee resettlement.

Today, we work with 14 child service agencies and have distributed over 3,000 Comfort BackPacks. These backpacks are filled with comfort items such as blankets, stuffed animals, books, hygiene products and school supplies plus a little love!

In honor of BPB’s five-year anniversary, here are 5 Facts about the Comfort BackPack Program.
