Summer is my favorite time of the year. I love taking a break from school schedules, homework, projects and sports. And I seriously love the fresh vegetables and fruits that are so readily accessible. It’s no surprise that June is Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Month. Here at BPB, we always love the opportunity to talk about fresh fruit and vegetables.

Unfortunately, it’s something that has been lost on some of today’s children with processed food lining the shelves of the grocery store. The Jamie Oliver Video shows just how important it is to educate our children about fresh food.

We are so excited about our Fresh Foods Initiative that will help provide impoverished children not only with food, but with fresh, healthy food. It’s a game changer. Our partnerships with local growers have made so many fresh things possible like adding fresh produce to our feeding programs.  We feel so passionate about helping all of the children in our community understand that the healthiest food comes fresh out of the ground or right off the trees.

We hope you enjoy all of the fresh fruits and vegetables during June. And please check out our website to see how you can help with our Fresh Foods Initiative, so that together, we can start a fresh food epidemic among the children in our community.

Happy fresh eating!
