BackPack Beginnings’ mission is to deliver child-centric services to feed, comfort and clothe children in need.  By ensuring food and basic necessities are given directly to children in need, we make a positive and lasting impact on their health and well-being.

We are an 95% volunteer 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to delivering child-centric services to feed, comfort and clothe children in need.

Who We Help

We help over 12,000 children experiencing hunger and trauma in our community. We serve children in need in 63 Guilford County Schools and 43 Child Assistance Organizations in Guilford, Forsyth and Alamance Counties.

Childhood hunger and trauma expose children to risk of developmental, emotional and educational delays that can last a lifetime. Our programs make a positive impact on the health and well-being of children in our community.

What We Do

We provide food, comfort and clothing directly to children in need. We operate 2 BackPack programs, the Food BackPack Program and the Comfort BackPack Program, as well as 41 food pantries, free clothing and hygiene pantry and book program.
