On behalf of BackPack Beginnings, I would like to highlight a few organizations that have recently supported our mission. These groups raised money and collected food to support the children in our community. Thank you to these groups- and others- that continue to support BackPack Beginnings.

Fiat of the Triad

We would like to send a heartfelt “thank you” to Corey Cooley and his staff at Fiat of the Triad or hosting a Spring Fling on Saturday. The weather was great and the community got to enjoy great music, pizza, bounce houses, ice cream, and a fire truck. Over $1,000 was raised to support our programs and we are so grateful for Fiat’s support by organizing this event for us. We look forward to partnering with them again in the future!

Holmes Grove United Methodist Church

Thank you to Nagatha Tonkins and the members of Holmes Grove United Methodist Church for collecting food and donations at Food Lion on Alamance Church Road. A car load of food was taken to our office this week, and we look forward to getting it into the hands of the children. We appreciate the church taking time to collect food and money for us.

Saint Pius X Catholic Church

Recently, St. Pius X Catholic Church went above and beyond the call of duty by collecting and purchasing extra food for students at Irving Park Elementary during their Spring Break. Ellen Fennie and other members wanted to make sure the students had enough food for the 5-day break. St. Pius X Catholic School also got in on the action! Beyond the Spring Break collection, the church youth group collected food and stuffed bags of food for hundreds of children in need. We are so thankful for St. Pius’ support through funding, delivery volunteers, food drives and MORE.
