Celebrating National Canned Food Month

BPB-Staff-04

Did you know that February is National Canned Food Month? If you’ve ever volunteered with BackPack Beginnings, you know how important canned food is to our cause. For struggling families, canned foods provide a balanced meal with proteins, vegetables, and fruit. We have food pantries in 14 schools that we need to keep supplied every week.

That’s why we are so grateful for the extra 677 pounds of canned and nonperishable food we received! That’s right. Several neighborhoods in Greensboro held food drives last month. Our coordinators in each neighborhood collected the donations and delivered car loads of food and clothing to us!

As always, we are so thankful for our volunteers and supporters.
