Last Friday, 40 volunteers from Zoës Kitchen helped to fight childhood hunger by joining forces with BackPack Beginnings, a non-profit that provides food, clothing, and comfort to local children in need.

Spring has sprung and we are growing again! We've added 9 new schools to our Food BackPack and Pantry Programs thanks to an incredible annual campaign and NASCAR grant. Ingrid is a Project Manager with Tanger Outlets. She first learned about BackPack Beginnings through her company’s volunteer program. Once a year, Tanger encourages their employees to volunteer through a program they call Stanley’s Samaritans, in recognition of their founder.
Staff and students at Pearce Elementary School raised a total $1,001 last week for BackPack Beginnings. The students took part in a week long hunger campaign collecting donations, learning about hunger-related issues, and creating posters for the event.
