Greensboro, NC (December 24, 2013) — A generous local donor has agreed to match all donations given to BackPack Beginnings through the United Way of Greensboro.  Upon hearing about the mission of BackPack Beginnings, the anonymous donor agreed to match donations through December 31, 2013.  Every dollar donated will be doubled, up to $20,000.

“Whether United Way receives $5, $1,000 or $20,000, every dollar counts when it comes helping children”, says Parker White, founder of BackPack Beginnings.  “We hope this matching campaign inspires individuals, the community and corporate donors to double the value of their gift to BackPack Beginnings between now and the end of the year.”

Please consider making a holiday donation to BackPack Beginnings.  Your tax deductible donation will have double the impact.  Double your gift and double the children we help!

  • $5 can feed a child for a weekend.
  • $15 can provide a comfort backpack to a child.
  • $150 can feed a child for the school year.
  • $8000 can feed 50 children for the entire school year.

All donations should be made to the United Way of Greensboro by check, online or in person.  To give online, visit: www.unitedwaygso.org.  If donating online, an email must be sent to marci.peace@unitedwaygso.org or BackPack Beginnings stating the donation was made and that it should be earmarked for BackPack Beginnings. Note– Checks and donations should be marked “BackPack Beginnings Match” in order to be eligible for matching. The matching donation deadline is 5 pm on December 31st.
